
Lisa Bernard (she/her) is an editor, writer, trainer, and graphic designer. She has edited nearly 700 reports, papers, briefs, and documentation on virtually every area of public policy; written documentation for technology users of every skill and education level, administrators, and developers; taught courses and trained new employees; and designed graphics and layouts for all of those written and electronic materials.
At the RAND Corporation, she was a senior research editor and legal-citation expert. For several years, she also was the editor dedicated specifically to the RAND Homeland Security Research Division. Before RAND, she freelanced; managed a team of technical writers; managed an award-winning website; performed research on constitutional law; developed and taught technical and nontechnical courses; provided technical support, documentation, and training to the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative; and worked for and directed a Girl Scout camp.
Lisa has a BA in philosophy with a minor in education and an MAEd in museum education both from the College of William and Mary, a JD from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, and a certificate in data visualization and information graphics from the New School at the Parsons School of Design.
